Is Sarah Palin the Future of the Republican Party?
If you weren’t a little frightened yesterday, today might be your day. The New York Times is suggesting that “Win or Lose, Many See Palin as Future of Party.” The article goes on to say that this candidacy is her entrance to national politics and that her prospects are just begining. This seems a little premature, especially in light of how much scandal she seems to have caused, but only time will tell. From my perspective, Matthew Dowd, a former bush Strategist, summed it up best:
“She’s an attractive woman who can give a great speech, but the American public doesn’t view her much beyond that,” Mr. Dowd said. “She’s vastly unpopular among moderate and independent voters, and while she could be in a position to be popular among an increasingly smaller Republican Party, she’s got to figure out a way to extend that and figure out a way to strengthen her weaknesses.”

McCain Screwed Up
Presidential candidate John McCain made a very big mistake, in my opinion, when asked to explain the scandal reasoning behind the Republican Party buying $150,000 in clothes, hair styling, and accessories for his running mate, Sarah Palin.
John McCain’s response to the mutltiple questions about the spending? Pretty much the same each time he was asked: “She needed clothes at the time. They’ll be donated at the end of the campaign. They’ll be donated to charity.” He didn’t have a good answer to “how” they will be donated, but frankly I’d be more upset if he had. They’ll be donated – that’s good enough for me. Well, almost. So, if they do win, what’s she going to wear then? And what about the clothes that were purchased for her family?
