Sarah Palin Spent What?
The Envelope is reporting that Sarah Palin convinced the RNC to cough up a over $150,000 to improve her look and accessorize her to run with Presidential Candidate John McCain. Can you imagine what that would buy at Wal-Mart? Apparently Sarah can’t either, because her expenses include over $75,000 at Neiman Marcus – home of the $40,000 book on Formula 1 Racing. Of course, some of those expenses include clothing for her family while they are on the campaign trail, too, because those ordinary outfits just aren’t good enough.
This is totally legal – but according to some of the articles that I’ve read it’s not normal. The good news for some lucky bum is that the McCain camp is now saying that all this clothing will be donated to charity when the campaign is over – I guess they’re saying that they plan on losing or it doesn’t matter what you wear once the election is over. Of course, if you listen to Tracey Scmitt of John McCain’s campaign, who is quoted as saying, “”With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it’s remarkable that we’re spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses.” Then you probably don’t care how they waste their money on Sarah Palin – you’d rather focus on your $200,000 home that was worth $500,000 two years ago or the $1,800 you spent all of last year on clothing.
Perception versus reality – the issues never change. People like attractive people and if the Republican National Convention can spiff her up, maybe the American public can overlook the fact that she’s not the brightest bulb on the tree. But, for my money, it’s like putting lipstick on a pig.
